Farmhouse Ham, Ranch & Pepper Creamy Dip
A simple, savory cheese ball with a little color and crunch – easy to make, easy to share, and perfect for everyday gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 8 oz blocks cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup cooked ham, finely chopped
- 2-3 tbsp red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup yellow bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (optional but recommended)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add ranch seasoning and black pepper; mix well.
- Fold in chopped ham, red onion, red and yellow peppers, and cheddar cheese (if using).
- Taste and adjust seasoning or add-ins as desired.
- Spoon mixture onto plastic wrap and gently shape into a ball.
- Wrap tightly and refrigerate at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
- Before serving, roll in herbs or nuts if desired.
Notes
- Want a smoother, creamier texture? Add a 1/4 cup of mayonnaise. That’s the sweet spot, and if needed you can always add a tablespoon more. The mayonnaise has a slight tang that plays well with the ranch and makes it easier to spread or scoop. Plus, it feels more “bring-a-bowl-to-the-table” than party-perfect cheese ball, making it perfect for that casual event. To make this version, skip forming it into a ball. Just serve in a shallow bowl.
- Sourdough slices
- Crackers
- Bell Pepper strips
- Celery sticks
