Farmhouse Strawberry Crisp

Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries
  • 2-3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional)

Crisp Topping

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup flour (regular or gluten-free)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp butter (melted)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350˚ F.
  • In a bowl, toss strawberries with sugar, flour (or cornstarch), and lemon juice to make the filling. Pour into a greased 8x8 baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and melted butter until crumbly to make the topping.
  • Sprinkle topping evenly over strawberries.
  • Bake 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
